About Us

East Cork Choral Society is a choir for soprano, alto, tenor and bass, with about 60 singers drawn from all walks of life. We give regular performances of all the major oratorios with professional soloists and orchestras. We always welcome new members, it's never too late to join. If you would like to join us please see our "New Members" link at the top of this page!

Our rehearsals take place on Thursdays at 8pm in St Mary's High School.

Our Musical Director is COLIN NICHOLLS. He has recently retired as Organist and Master of the Choristers of St Fin Barre's Cathedral in Cork.

Mozart's Requiem and Holst's Hymn of Jesus

Upcoming Concert

Mozart’s Requiem and Holst’s Hymn of Jesus.

What a feast of music!  On Sunday December 1st at 8.00p.m. in St. Augustine’s Church, Washington Street,  East Cork Choral Society will perform Mozart’s final masterpiece, his Requiem.  This will be followed by Holst’s very moving and dramatic  ‘ Hymn of Jesus’  and the  Advent anthem ‘Turn back O man’  also by Holst.

As ever, the East Cork Orchestra, leader, Eithne Willis, will accompany the performance and Gemma Magner, Sarah Luttrell, Ciaran Fennelly and Robert Kennedy are the soloists.  Colin Nicholls will conduct, as he has for the past 36 years.
